What does that mean exactly?

On average most rechargeable batteries have a life of about 3 years, after which they loose their ability to hold a charge or one charge lasts for a considerably shorter period of time. So the solution is either buy a new battery or get it repacked. Repacking involves simply removing the now expired cells and replacing them with fresh new cells. In the case of power tools and two way radios this is relatively simple, However, laptop batteries are a bit more complicated due to electronics in both the laptop and battery which monitor the charge discharge cycle, these need to be reset when the battery is replaced.

What type of equipment can have batteries repacked?

Laptops, power tools, two way radios, UPS (We do not repack cell phone batteries, it's cheaper to buy a new one). With regard to laptops, not all laptop batteries can be re-packed, but if we can't repack it we can offer a generic replacement battery. In the case of a very old laptop it is probably more economical to go for a new laptop, either way we can advise you.

For laptop batteries we need the model number and some other information namely the mAh (milli-ampere hour) or Ah (Ampere-hour) and the voltage (v), this information should be on the battery itself. Meaning you will need to remove it from the laptop recess. For other equipment the manufacturer, number of cells (if available) and voltage should suffice, we may need to see the equipment though.
